In 2007 The Event Riders Association launched the 'ERA Hall of Fame', supported by Shearwater Insurance. This is designed to honour horse and rider that have, both in their own ways made outstanding contributions to the growth, development, quality, popularity and appreciation of the sport of Eventing on the world stage.
The 2010 entry into the ERA Hall of Fame was announced at the ERA Dinner held at the Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials over May Day Bank Holiday weekend. The event was well attended by riders and their partners with Karen Dixon picking up the award for Get Smart and, due to traffic delays on the M4, she also picked up the award for Ian Stark.

Past Winners
Shearwater Insurance was established by Jeremy Lawton in 1992
The Shearwater name is widely recognised in the equestrian industry, not only for their broking expertise and excellent customer service but through their ongoing support to the sport. The importance of giving back to the industry has been recognised and embraced in a number of ways – particularly by the successful partnership of Leslie Law and the two well known greys, Shear H20 and Shear L’Eau.
Shearwater was originally set up in 1992 by Jeremy Lawton, who, after 20 years of working in the financial market in the city, wanted to combine his technical expertise with his passion for horses.
Jeremy’s focus on providing a truly individual and tailored service was a key ingredient to the initial success of the company in the equestrian insurance sector.
